Engineer's Desktop™ Drilling and Completions Applications
Engineer's Desktop Software Suite
The Engineer’s Desktop software suite is Landmark’s Drilling, Completions, Production, and Economics integration platform. The Engineer’s Desktop applications all access the common EDM™database. The EDM database schema allows for common data access, enables naturally integrated engineering workflows, and reduces data entry duplication across applications.

Change History
The EDM Drilling Data Migration Guide included with the Engineer's Desktop release details the procedure to migrate legacy data sets to the EDM database platform. Common data from COMPASS, WELLPLAN, and DIMS™ databases can be merged into the EDM database to create one set of shared business objects, preventing future duplication of information.
Although the common database improves integration between drilling, production, and economics products, products that do not use the common database can still share data using DEX™ . Applications migrated to the EDM database still support DEX, which enables import/export data integration with 3rd party software products (e.g. Halliburton's SUMMIT™ field reporting system; Baroid's WELLSIGHT® 2000 fluids reporting system).

Real-Time View software is provided with a rich set of editing tools to allow customized log templates to be created for almost any layout.
StressCheck software is an easy-to-use engineering tool for the design and analysis of casing strings. StressCheck can yield significant savings in total casing costs by providing a variety of automated formulations for specifying realistic burst, collapse, and axial loads, rather than traditional worst-case maximum load profiles, and by facilitating optimization of the number and length of casing string sections. In some cases, as much as 40% can be saved in comparison to casing designs developed by conventional methods.
WELLCAT software calculates accurate temperature and pressure profiles which can be used for pipe-body movement and casing and tubing load analysis. The software integrates five modules (Drill, Prod, Casing, Tube, and MultiString) into a common environment to provide more accurate and reliable solutions to complex design problems. Thermal effects are modeled during drilling and production operations. A comprehensive analysis of loads and stresses on casing and tubing is provided, including service life analysis. Detailed analysis of the entire casing system is provided to understand the effects of annular pressure buildup and the interaction of all the strings in the casing and tubing system within a well. Loads and their resulting wellhead movement are evaluated to determine the integrity of the well tubulars.
