Well Explorer > Contractor Tab > Rig Properties
The fields in the General tab of the Rig Properties dialog are used to identify a rig and the properties of the rig. This tab is also used to lock data at the Rig level protecting its data from unauthorized changes to the information associated with the Rig.
The Rig Name and Rig No. are used to identify the Rig in the Well Explorer. A Rig Name must be unique for the Contractor.
The Rig Type picklist determines the rig image that appears when using the OpenWells® Rig Equipment Editor and the Interactive Well Site for offshore wells .
Activate the Azimuthing check box when rig thrusters are used to control rig for dynamically positioned azimuth.
Enter the year the rig was constructed in the Rig Year field.
Enter the Start and End dates that define the period of time in which the Rig is active.
The Ratings area captures critical properties of the Rig.
Enter the Drill Depth Rating, Water Depth Rating, VDL Storm (storm variable deck load) and VDL Max (maximum variable deck load).
The Equipment area provides details about equipment present on the Rig.L
Enter the Flare Desc (description), Gantry Desc (description), Crane Type, Number of Cranes and Cement Unit in the fields provided.
Activate the Locked check box to prevent editing of the Rig data. If this check box is activated and a Lock Data password has been specified (Contractor Properties dialog) a prompt for the password appears before it can be unlocked.

Click Apply to save changes and continue entering data in another tab. Click OK to save and exit.
