Special Fields and Functions
Case Name
The Case Name picklist contains a list of Cases, within the same Wellbore, which has been created in other Engineer's Desktop™ applications. If there are no Cases created in the Well the picklist will be set to None.
String Components Spreadsheet
The String Components spreadsheet records the components of the selected Planned Drillstring. Rows added to this spreadsheet are directly related to the row selected in the Planned Drillstrings spreadsheet.
Insert Row
Use the button to insert a row above the selected row. This button is available in the String Components spreadsheet.
Order Buttons
Use the and
arrows to reorder rows in the spreadsheet.
Select New Section Type Dialog String Components Spreadsheet
The Select New Section Type dialog appears when a row is added to the spreadsheet.
The following Section Types are available:

Depending on the Section Type selected the data entry areas below the spreadsheet will change.
Select from Catalog Button
The Select from Catalog button appears in the Component Details area. This button can be used to select drillstring components from an available catalog.
Note:
Catalogs are available for most Section Types with the exception of the b, Hole Opener, Bit, Port Collar/Diverter Sub/Circulating Sub, and Underreamer Section Types. Custom catalogues for these equipment types may be created by the user.

Note:
If no Catalog is available the following message will appear, "No catalog is available for [Section Type Name]."
Depth
The fields in the Depth column are calculated by adding the previous rows Length to the previous row's Depth.
MD Base
The fields in the Measured Depth Base column are calculated by adding the Length and the Depth fields of the same row.
Add Row
Use the button to add a row to the spreadsheet.
Delete Row
Select the row to be deleted and click the button. The entire row must be selected by clicking on the row number.
Import
Click the button to import data directly into the spreadsheet. For more information see the Import Support.
Editing an Existing Row
To edit an existing row, select the row and enter the necessary changes in the fields located in the Details area below.
