Export

File > WITSML > Export

The WITSML Export command is used to export business objects from the current application, to a WITSML transfer file (XML). When exporting to a WITSML file, the user is able to specify the name and location of the file specified.

The following WITSML business objects can be exported from the EDM™ database:

To export a business object from a Well or Wellbore

  1. Select one of the following items:  

Well

Select the well_icon.gif Well in the Well Explorer tree and follow the menu path, File > WITSML > Export

Right-click on well_icon.gif Well in the Well Explorer tree and select,  WITSML > Export

Wellbore

Select the wellbore_icon.gif Wellbore in the Well Explorer tree and follow the menu path, File > WITSML > Export

Right-click on wellbore_icon.gif Wellbore in the Well Explorer tree and select,  WITSML > Export

The WITSML Export dialog appears.

  1. Navigate to the location where the Export file will be saved and enter the name of the file in the File name field.

  2. Click OK.

The WITSML Export message appears with a message displaying the export success or failure and the export file location.

  1. Click OK.

To export Trajectory and Fluids business object from a Daily Operations report

  1. Open the WITSML command using one of the following methods:  

Select the Daily Operations report in the Report List or open the report and follow the menu path, File > WITSML > Export

Right-click on Daily Operations report in the Report List and select WITSML > Export

The Select Item for WITSML Export dialog appears.

  1. Select one of the items appearing in the dialog, by selecting its check box.

  2. Click OK.

The Select WITSML Output File dialog appears.

  1. Navigate to the location where the Export file will be saved and enter the name of the file in the File name field.

  2. Click the Select WITSML Output File button.

The WITSML Export message appears with a message displaying the export success or failure and the export file location.

  1. Click OK.
