Pipe Tally Data
Interactive Well Site > Available Reports Data
The Pipe Tally form is used for tracking drill pipe, casing and tubing information as the equipment arrives at the rig or is run into the hole. OpenWells® software is equipped with two types of Pipe Tally reports:
Off-Load
Pipe Tally —
used to record measurements of pipe joints being unloaded from a transport
vehicle or vessel. These measurements may be re-used in a Running
Tally report to document actual joints that are run in hole.
Entering information initially in the Off-Load Pipe Tally has real
value when creating running tallies and Casing/Wellbore Equipment
reports. The Off-Load Pipe Tally data can be re-used in the Run Pipe
Tally so component details, especially lengths, do not have to be
re-entered. Once casing or tubing data is entered into a Pipe Tally
report, it is then available to be copied directly into the Casing
or Wellbore Equipment reports.
Note: To use data from an
Off-Load Pipe Tally report in a Run Pipe Tally report, the Off-Load
Tally must be created first. However, the Run Pipe Tally report can
be created from scratch if no Off-Load Pipe Tally is available.
Run
Pipe Tally —
used to record pipe joint lengths being run into the hole. This tally
can act as a checklist for the casing-hand or well engineer supervising
the Casing/Tubing run. The run tally can also be used to determine
actual assembly set depth using the total length of run joints.
If a Run Pipe Tally is created without creating an Off-Load Pipe Tally
first, casing string accessories, such as float shoes, can be added
as the spreadsheet is completed.
Pipe Tally data is can be recorded from the surface and subsurface Activities link or by clicking on the pipe rack. The application prompts you to select the type of tally report you want to record when this link is selected.
