Daily Operations Report
The Wellbore Obstruction section records any assemblies lost downhole or damaged sections of wellbore that prevent tool passage. During fishing operations, the rig supervisor can access this section from the Fishing report or from the Daily Operations report to record the full work history of the fish assembly, its historical status and downhole makeup. Multiple fishing attempts and the effects on the fish assembly can also be recorded. Wellbore obstructions can also be reviewed in Wellbore Properties dialog from the Well Explorer.
This Wellbore Obstruction section contains three spreadsheets:
For information on using spreadsheets, see the Using Spreadsheets and Tables topic.
The Wellbore Obstruction spreadsheet is populated in one of two ways:
when an assembly or work string component is marked as an obstruction in the
Drillstring section of the Daily Operations report,
Work String section of the Daily Operations, Casing, Cementing and Fishing reports, or
Status section of the Wellbore Equipment report.
by manually entering an obstruction in the spreadsheet.
If the assembly components were created as an obstruction from another report, the details are copied to this spreadsheet and the components that are included in the string, populate the Obstruction Contents spreadsheet. Modify the content as appropriate if only part of the assembly was left downhole.
Obstruction Subcode and Obstruction Subcode2
Select the appropriate subcodes from the picklists to identify the obstruction type. When data is selected in either of these columns, this indicates that the Wellbore Obstruction is one fish assembly and the status and components can be described and modified in the Obstruction Status and Obstruction Contents spreadsheets.
Tubular
Activate this check box to indicate if the obstruction is a tubular assembly. Oilfield tubular goods include tubing, casing, drill pipe and line pipe.
For each obstruction listed in the Wellbore Obstruction spreadsheet, add a status row for the following during the fishing operation:
the initial installation (first row);
one row for each failed fishing attempt; and
the final removal (last row).
During a fishing operation, it is very common that the component make-up will change for each new status record. For each row in the Obstruction Status spreadsheet, create a row for each component that makes up the fish assembly and enter the detailed information for each component in the corresponding column of the spreadsheet.
Radioactive Source
Activate this check box if the component has a radioactive source.
