Daily Geology Report
Reports
The Daily Geology report is intended for use by the wellsite Geologist while the rig is drilling or string a new hole or performing logging operations. OpenWells® software allows the wellsite Geologist, working in conjunction with the Mud Loggers, to thoroughly document drilling progress through the stratigraphic record for the Well using detailed lithology descriptions. It also allows the wellsite Geologist to record depth averaged total gas, gas chromatograph breakdowns and record any hydrocarbon shows that have been encountered.
The Daily Geology report contains the following sections:
General - Displays the wellsite geology information from the Daily Operation report, such as mud data, MWD sensor positions, casing information and survey information.
Carbide Lag - Captures data on carbide bombs dropped in the hole to help determine if hole is in gauge.
Chromatograph/Total Gas - Records the total gas readings and chromatograph breakdowns for depth intervals down the Well.
Lithology - Lithology and Show descriptions for each interval sampled down the Wellbore.
Remarks - Contains a memo field that allows free-form text entry.
Once a section has been completed, activate the
Section Complete check box located
in the section header. A green check mark will appear on the section icon
() in the shortcut bar to indicate that
