Daily Operations Report > Fluids Section
The General tab of the Fluids section in the Daily Operations report provides space for reporting fluid properties of drilling muds and completions brines.
General
Mudbase Type
The Mudbase Type selection determines which Mudbase tab appears in the Fluids section.
The Completion Brines Tab becomes available when Brine is selected.
The Oil/Synthetic Based Mud Tab becomes available when Oil or Synthetic is selected.
The Water Based Mud Tab becomes available when Water is selected.
Mud Desc (Mud Description)
The Mud Description field displays the name of the Fluid that can be selected from the picklist in the spreadsheet or the Mud Desc picklist in the General tab.
Company
Enter the name of the Company providing the drilling fluids service. A picklist is available for this selection. If the Company used does not exist in the picklist, enter the name of the Company in the field.
Rheology
Rheology is the study of the deformation and flow of a given fluid. Mud rheology is measured continuously while drilling. This allows for adjustments, with either additives or dilution, in order to meet the needs of the operation.
Fann Data
Enter details regarding the Fann Viscometer or VG meter used to test drilling fluids at downhole conditions. Click to add a row to the spreadsheet. Enter the data in the RPM, Reading and Deflection columns. For information on using spreadsheets in OpenWells, see the Using Spreadsheets and Tables topic.
