Print Wizard Command
File > Print Wizard
The Print Wizard command allows the user to generate a number of Standard and Summary reports for multiple Wells and Events in order to produce a hard copy or a PDF file. This command gives the option of viewing the Report on screen prior to or instead of printing. The PDF option additionally allow the user to select if the reports are to be located in one pdf file or if each report has it's own individual PDF file.
Acrobat Reader Note: Acrobat Reader 7.09 or newer is required to print and view output reports.
Note: The Print Wizard command is available when the Company, Project, Site, Well, Wellbore, Event, or Completion is selected in the Well Explorer tree.
To use the Print Wizard, follow the menu path, File > Print Wizard...

Alternatively, click the
button.
The Print Report Wizard dialog box appears.
Use the Find Well button to define the Well containing the Reports to be printed.
The Find Well dialog appears.
Select the Company, Project, Site and then the Well containing the reports.
If you are not sure
where the Well is located, click the button.
Enter the name (or partial name) of the Well in the Well name field and click the Find button.
A listing of Wells matching your search criteria is displayed. Select the Well you are looking for and click OK.
Click OK. The selected Well is displayed at the top of the dialog box.
Select the appropriate Wellbore and Event.
A listing of reports for the selected criteria is displayed in two lists, the “Standard Reports” and “Summary Reports” lists.
Use the mouse to select and de-select Reports for printing, from the Standard and Summary Reports lists. Use the Selection arrows to move reports from the Reports Available area to the Items for Transfer area.
Use the down button to move the selected items from the Standard and Summary Reports areas to the Reports Selected area. |

Use the all down button to move all items from the Standard and Summary Reports areas to the Reports Selected area. |

Use the all up arrow to move all items from the Reports Selected area to Standard and Summary Reports areas. |

Use the up button to move the selected items from the Reports Selected area to Standard and Summary Reports areas. |
Shortcut Method: To select multiple consecutive items, in both the Standard and Summary Reports areas, hold down the Shift key and select the first and last items. Alternatively, to select multiple non-consecutive items hold down the Ctrl key and select the items to be transferred.
REPEAT Steps 2 through 6 to select Reports for other Wells, Wellbore and/or Events.
If the Remember Selected Reports check box is selected, then OpenWells will display this same selected list of Reports each time the Print Wizard is opened regardless of the Well, Wellbore or Event.
Click the Clear Remembered Reports button to clear the saved list of selected Reports.
Click Next.
The OpenWells Print Queue dialog appears displaying the selected Reports.
Activate the Close window when complete check box to close the dialog box once the Report preview or Report print operation has completed.
To view a copy of each report prior to printing it, click the Generate Preview button.
To print a paper copy of each report, select the Printer the reports are to be printed on and click the Send to Printer button.
To create a PDF file for each report or create one PDF file containing all of selected Reports, click the Export to PDF button.
The application asks if you would like to merge the reports into one PDF. Selecting Yes will merge the reports into one PDF file; selecting No will create a PDF file for each report.
Enter the name the PDF file and navigate to the location where it will be saved.
The OpenWells Print Queue dialog shows the progress of the PDF file creation (see the status column) If you click OK on this dialog it will minimize until the report has been generated.
While generating the pdf, the Report Options dialog appears allowing you to add a Cover Page, Table of Contents or depending on the report define the sections that will appear on the output report.
Click the Send to Printer button to begin the printing of the Reports.
Click Cancel to exit the operation without printing.
Generate Preview Button
If the Generate Preview button is clicked the status column will display the status of the Report Generation. As each Report is generated the Status field for that Report will turn red and read Generating. As Reports are generated they are removed from the Queue window and displayed in the EDM™ Report Manger application. From this application the Reports can be saved to multiple electronic formats or printed.
Send to Printer Button
If the Send to Printer button is clicked the status column will display the status of the Report Generation. As each Report is generated the Status field for that Report will turn red and read Generating. As Reports are generated they are removed from the Queue window and sent to the default printer.
