This new functionality allows users to move between OpenWells® and PROFILE™ Software in a seamless manner, resulting in a greater ability to quickly QA the schematic.
Launching PROFILE from OpenWells Software
To view this new functionality, select a Wellbore or Report in the Well Explorer Tree. The PROFILE software shortcut button activates in the toolbar.
Note: Running PROFILE from a selected Wellbore results in displaying the most recent event of the Wellbore.
Click on the PROFILE software button . The schematic uses the current viewing datum and selected unit system from OpenWells software.
Note: If PROFILE software is already running, it cannot be launched in context with OpenWells software.
Creating OpenWells reports from PROFILE
Once in PROFILE software, data may be entered in the Casing, Cementing, Wellbore Equipment, Rod Strings and Stimulations sections resulting in a new report in OpenWells software. These reports will have a denotation of P in front of the report number in OpenWells.
To create reports in PROFILE software, select one of the appropriate tabs.
Click the Add a Row 
button and enter the appropriate data. The Change History Update dialog displays
Save the data in PROFILE software or click on the Refresh button in OpenWells software.
This report is created in OpenWells software.
