Data Transfer
OpenWells® Software Features
OpenWells software provides functionality to perform transfer of data between Field and Office databases. This functionality allows the Rig site user to send Reports to the Office, request and import new and modified Jobs from the Office database and check the status of transferred reports.
Note: If the AutoSync system setting has been turned on by the EDM™ Administrator, this feature will not be available. The EDM AutoSync application synchronizes all data from the main application toolbar. For more information see the EDM AutoSync Client topic.
Prior to using Data Transfer the Field and Office systems MUST be configured. See the Configuring the Field and Office for Data Transfers topic for information on configuring the systems.
Data Transfer in OpenWells software is carried out thorough the following interfaces:
Report Transfer Status Icons
The Report List contains a status column, which graphically displays the transfer status of each Report. The following table displays the various status icons:

The Transfer Command is used to initiate communication between Office and Field machines. Use the submenus to transfer Reports, request Jobs update status, and to check for new or modified Jobs.
Check for Job Transfers Dialog
The Check for Job Transfers dialog displays the status of Job requests. This dialog can be used to import new Jobs from the Office database to the Field database.
